Welcome to Ms. Akin's Second Grade Class!

Hello! My name is Kayla Akin, and I am one of the Second Grade teachers at Joe Wright Elementary. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Boswell High School in 2012. I then went on to study and play soccer at The University of Texas at Tyler, and received my Bachelor's of Business Administration- Finance in 2016. I quickly realized that my true passion was to become a teacher, so I earned my certifications in Early Childhood Education and English as a Second Language (ESL). I have two dogs, Bentley and Jax, and I love to take them on walks or to Andy's for some frozen custard! I love spending time with my friends and family, playing soccer, and watching lots of movies! I have been teaching for four years and can't wait to make 2021-2022 the best one yet!
